2. Canon Character Information
Name: Martin Crieff

Age: Mid 30s
Appearance: Since Cabin Pressure is a radio program, the only thing we know about Martin's canon appearance is what's said about him, and that isn't much. The most we get at one time is someone describing him as a "short, red-faced little man." As I imagine him, Martin is 5'7" with reddish-brown hair and is rail-thin. He just so happens to resemble Benedict Cumberbatch facially, but because of his height and the way he carries himself, there'd be no actual mistaking them.
History: We accept wiki pages that outline your character's history. If you can't link to such a page, please type out a history that should be at least a few paragraphs long.
Powers/Talents: Martin is exceptional at worrying about things. Really, that's just about his strongest talent. It makes him cautious (sometimes) and keeps him from making mistakes (on occasion), so as talents go it's not as bad as it sounds. Except for when it makes him panic, lose focus and act impulsively.
He's all right at flying airplanes and knows a hell of a lot about aviation to the point of having memorized the manual, but all that came about from intense study and years upon years of stubborn refusal to give up.
Personality: This is really the meat of the application. You should get into what distinguishes your character from others. What are their goals? How would other people describe them? What do they desire, what are they afraid of? How do they present themselves, and what do they internalize?
Why would your character be chosen? Martin is someone who's spent almost his whole life doggedly going after something that other people have repeatedly told him he shouldn't or can't do -- not only that, but he's done it to the point where he's actually become good at it. He'd be chosen for his determination.
How much does your character know about nonhumans? Martin has an average first-world-Earth human's understanding of nonhumans, which is to say it mostly comes from pop culture and he believes it's all fiction.
Why this character: Martin is adorable. I enjoy playing characters that make people go "aww." I also enjoy taking characters who are astoundingly ordinary in their own world and putting them into extraordinary circumstances. That's something I haven't done in a while in rp, and I'm looking to switch gears from what's become my norm (super-smart cerebral types).
